Another week, another update on what we, and the community, have been up to over the last few days
Putrid Team-Adam and Emily
We’ve been quite busy this last week, especially Adam and Emily, who are continuing to prepare for International Table Top Day.
The two received a set of fantasy terrain from Candy Art Studio, as you may have seen last weekend. Here are a few more pictures of this great set of scenery.
As you can see, the terrain was well packed and secure. Each item was individually wrapped, and we can report that there was no damage to the terrain.
And here’s some close-ups of the terrain:
Double-fountain.
Wells and fountains.
Abandoned carts.
The Brotherhood war band for the Empire of the Dead demo games is now complete, and ready to show off.
Brotherhood Deacon Leader.
2nd in command Confessor.
Brother with pistol.
Brother with Crossbow.
Matt
I admit that I’ve been quiet on the modelling front. I’ve been away visiting family, and celebrating an anniversary.
However, that did pay off model-wise, as I got an epic model as an anniversary gift. I got Forge World’s Khorne Lord Zhufor, a brutal killer-stroke-psychopath: a model so covered in skulls it’s hard to see the man inside!
I have some interesting plans for the model. It’s not going to remain Khorne for long: I plan to convert it to follow the Changer of the Ways: Tzeentch. To do this, I’ll be doing a lot of cutting and shaving of details. I also plan to change the head, and use a different right-hand weapon. Likely a Gun-Glaive from Maxmini. I want to keep the cool Commissar’s skeleton, and I might paint it to look animated, a cool count-as familiar. The end-result should be a large, intimidating Terminator Sorcerer with a talking skeleton sidekick!

New Additions
We have added two new friends to the list: Gemini Miniatures and Miniature Maniacs. Miniature Maniacs is a commission-based miniature painting service, and you should all know by now who Gemini is! Expect to see updates from these two in the near future.
GreatJoJoMan
We thought this video from Great JoJoMan would be very valuable to those working with airbrushes who are experiencing the dreaded blockage. We’d normally save this or the weekend update, but proper airbrush maintenance is essential! WARNING: May contain swearing:
That is all for this week. We shall continue to update you on our projects, as well as the goings on in the community. See you again this weekend.
Today, we can reveal some amazing terrain pieces that we will be using at ITTD, made by the fantastic Pete from Candy Art Studio. These pieces will be used on our fantasy demo boards.
Mystic fountain.
Abandoned carts.
Wells of wonder.

Hello, I’m Matt. You may remember me from such broadcast media outlets like Power Armoured Metal and….
*Normal-mode*
Hello everyone. I am Matthew Davies, and I have just joined the Putrid Painting team as their new online media editor. Before I take my place on my mighty skull-lined throne as a wanabee press baron, I thought I’d share a little bit about who I am and what you can expect from the Putrid blog in the future.
I am a 21 year third-year journalism student from North Yorkshire, England. I am soon to graduate, which is actually a bit scary now that I think about it! I have been a war-gamer since I was in primary school, so in theory, I should know a thing or two about 40k and other war-games. I’m a new-ish player to Bolt Action, and you can expect me to get very giddy when Putrid gets new Axis items in store, or in fact any items (if you have seen my early-war German force, you will know I have a habit of looting tanks from other armies, with plans to add a Somua S35 and a mighty KV-2!). When I’m not gaming you can find me at heavy metal gigs, dying my hair odd colours or in my car that doesn’t strictly move at the moment.
Before coming here to help out at Putrid Painting, I have been working here and there a journalist in and outside the war-gaming world. I am the owner and editor of Power Armoured Metal, a bi-weekly news, review and gaming blog, where I share the many adventures I have within the hobby. The blog has been running for around two-and-a-half years now and has proved pretty popular. If you haven’t liked the page on Facebook yet, like it now (Adam will back me up on this!) Outside of the hobby, I have worked a bit in local newspapers as a reporter, namely The Scarborough News and the Barnsley Chronicle. I have also worked briefly for a music web-magazine (who shall not be named because they were evil, and not the good kind of evil where I’m promised cookies if I conquer other planets). Being a journalist gives me a great chance to meet with people who I wouldn’t normally get to meet in person. Through this I’ve managed to speak with people from bands, magazine editors and charities.
In terms of the blog, I’m going to make a few changes, nothing too drastic mind, since Adam and Emily have a really good setup here. The blog will become your one-stop-shop for Putrid news and updates. I have a few ideas in the pipeline, namely regular ‘staff projects’. Hopefully, every week or two, the Putrid team (either one of us or all of us) will share what they’ve been working on, whether it is a model or a new army. I thought it would be fun to share our enjoyment of the hobby with you.
That’s enough of a monologue from me: now it’s time to get on with the weekend’s news!

International Table-top day
We, along with the local gaming community, will be celebrating International Table Top Day next month! We will be attending an event at the Mid Wales Wargaming society. We will be there from 10am until 8pm. The Club, which meets at St Marys Church Hall on Church Street in Builith Wells, Powys, will be hosting several participation games for you to enjoy, with free entry.
At the Mid Wales Wargaming Society event, we will be demonstrating several games, including the following:
Dropzone Commander (Hawk Wargames)
Urban War (Urban Mammoth)
Deep Wars/Shadow Sea (Antimatter Games)
X-Wing (Fantasy Flight Games)
Empire of the Dead (West Wind Productions)
MERCS (West Wind Productions)
Wolsung SSG (Micro Art Studio)
Bushido (GCT Studios)
A schedule for when we will demo which games will be announced on the Facebook page soon.
As well as that, there is an event over to Tredegar Reavers Wargames Club, from 9am to 9pm on Saturday April 5. From board games to table-top, there’s plenty to enjoy. You can find the club at the Kids R Us Venue 2, on Nantybwch, Tredegar.
Catalogue Discontinuation
We will be discontinuing our catalogue supplements from this month. As we have almost completed updating the 4000-plus items to the web store, we see no need in having the catalogue. Updates on when products will be active, and new products, will continue on this blog. For club visits we will still have a catalogue or two at hand.
New Releases
Megalith Games
Four new items have been released on the web-store for Megalith Games’ Godslayer.
First off, we have the Cromlech Guard set, which comes with six finely detailed models and 12 tokens.
Fans of the British world-war-two-themed comedy Dad’s Army will enjoy this commemorative box set. The box set contains 18 models of the most loved characters from the show, both in ‘civvies’ and in Home Guard uniforms. These would make a great addition to British forces.

Part nine of his Nurgly mission is now available, featuring some awesome count-as Vindicators. WARNING: May contain swearing:
So if you like the updates you see on the blog and want to know more about upcoming (or future) products you can get in touch with PP directly via the following methods:
Hello and welcome to the Putrid Painting Blog! THE place to get the latest and greatest news on the inner goings on of Putrid Painting!
First off I would like to apologise for the lack of regular updates, it’s been a busy few weeks for myself and Emily and we hope to get back into the usual rhythm soon!
Putrid News
Those of you who follow us on Facebook and Twitter will already know about this but heck there’s no harm in being reminded!
The January supplement for our catalogue is now available to download, this is meant to be read alongside the main catalogue and content in it supersedes the catalogue (prices, products codes, etc).
To get your mouse pointers’ mitts on this add-on simply click the link below to view/download the PDF!
And yes you read that right in the supplement, we at Putrid Painting are NOT raising our Army Painter prices AT ALL! The only thing that will change over the next few days is the RRP, which you don’t pay anyway! Because we don’t believe in unjustified price hikes here at PP!

So if you like the updates you see on the blog and want to know more before it goes up on the webstore (and can’t wait until the end of month supplement!) you can get in touch with PP directly via the following methods:
Hello and welcome to another category in the Putrid Blog I like to call “Putrid Battle Reports” where you can see Bat reps from anyone who sends in there epic tales of battle from the tabletop scene! You might even see one from myself form time-to-time!
The first one comes from Kevin Rowland, chairman of the Tredegar Reavers wargames club, author of the Death by Die blog and mastermind behind Big Picture Photography! He has sent in his most recent battle report (via blogger link) where he goes up against the most unsavory of foes from the Warhammer 40k universe…Dark Eldar (cue evil music)!
Will he make it out with minimal casualties and be victorious? Will he be crushed and taken away to be tortured? Or will it be a close match? Find out by reading his blog linked below!
If you want you submit a battle report (from any game!) then you can do so by sending it to the Putrid Painting email address at putridpainting@gmail.com!
Thanks for reading and I’ll see you real soon for another post!
Hey #warmongers! Here at Putrid Painting (PP) one of our goals is to give back to the wargaming community what you give to us (both financially and support wise!) so in a bid to do so we want anything from you wargaming/tabletop hobby related that we can feature on the blog!
Now this can be either a video review, vLog (video blog), blog, magazine article, etc but in order for us to support you we want it to be from YOU the #warmongers, so if you have a YouTube channel and want a video featured, send us the link! If you recently posted to your blog, tell us about it! If you’ve had a painted miniature of yours featured in a model magazine, let us know!
Because here at PP, we aren’t all about the money (despite business being ALL about the money apparently!), we care about you guys, and we want to help in anyway possible by using our larger network to get you noticed out there!
So now you’re asking “but Ad, how do we send all this awesomeness to you?” ah hush now great warrior, for all you need to do is send an email to the PP gmail account at putridpainting@gmail.com with the title of the video/blog/whatever it is along with a brief description of what it’s about and we will give it a quick once over and then publish it to this very blog! Fantastic eh?
Then you’re probably asking, “but what do you want in return? There HAS to be a catch right?”, WRONG! No catch, no “I’ll only do it if you advertise PP”, we want nothing in return for your content, but we aren’t going to say no to you mentioning us anywhere ;).
That’s it really! If you have any questions you can get in contact by emailing us at the above address or come see us on Facebook or Twitter!
I look forward to your submissions and here’s to you guys! The great #warmongers!
