This week we have a good amount of content ranging from updates from us here at PP, news from Army Painter HQ, so let’s get stuck into it!

So last weekend I visited a couple of wargaming clubs and set up shop. Saturday saw me visiting the Mid-Wales Wargaming Society (MWWS)for the first time, I eventually parked up (with some help from Andrew the chairman!) and stayed from 12-5pm and had a great time chatting, selling and even playing some Deadzone (Mantic Games)! You may of heard the clubs name before as the MWWS is the club that is holding a 40k tournament in aid of Help4Heros and we are sponsoring them! Sunday saw me visiting Castle Gamers in Bridgend and they were having a clear out of their huge amount of terrain, I was even tempted to grab some but resisted temptation to let the members grab some bargains. They were also having a painting session getting members to do painting touch-ups to any of the club terrain that needed a fresh lick of paint, I found this good to see such a strong community spirit in the club and everyone was having a blast doing it!

Micro Art have come out with another stunning defence line that is themed around cybernetic beings that wish to destroy eveything in their path, hey even they need something to duck behind when being shot at! Anyway these are beautiful and will look awesome on the field of battle!
Spartan have released yet more awesomeness for their Firestorm Armarda game with all 6 factions getting a carrier and crusier group box set!

The Army Painter News
Ok so we have received some rather unfortunate news from our supplier regarding the Army Painter, they have announced that from 1st February 2014 they will increasing the prices on a number of their products, while this is somewhat bewildering to me as of why they are doing this (due to the fact it’s on products that aren’t even new!) you can be well assured that here at PP, we will be doing our very best to NOT increase our discounted prices! So you know what’s coming, here is the list of items they are increasing the RRPs on:

Insane Detail Brush – 2.75 up to 3.25
Detail Brush – 2.75 up to 3.50
Character Brush – 3.25 up to 3.75
Regiment Brush – 3.50 up to 4.00
Psycho Brush – 2.75 up to 3.25

Now remember what I said above, you guys will NEVER pay the RRP of a product, we will always offer our products at a discounted rate so don’t worry too much about the price increase because if I can help it you won’t be paying ANY extra for these items! But I advise that if you do need anything from the Army Painter range get it sooner rather than later just in case we do have to put our prices up a bit (due to cost price increases).
With the theme of last week mainly looking towards Games Workshop and their recent stocks dropping like a lead balloon a lot of the friends network have been talking about what would happen IF they went bust, and also what could they do to improve?

Personal Wargaming
Ok so after much thinking (that’s hard for me sometimes!), Emily and I have finally decided on what game systems we are going to be playing! We have chosen Deep Wars by Antimatter Games and Urban War by Urban Mammoth. Both games are skirmish games so will fit nicely onto our dining table and are also great value for money and excellent sculpts to boot! I have gone for the Fortune Hunters faction from Deep Wars and the Syntha Strike Team from Urban War. Emily has gone for the Dark Mariners from Deep Wars and the Koralon Strike Team from Urban War. Can’t wait to get my mitts on some minis once again and get painting and we will definitely be keeping you guys updated via a blog of some sort (which I might add as a new category so our stuff doesn’t get too mixed up in business bits!), I might also post our progress to the Facebook and Twitter pages so be sure to keep an eye out! Ok so like I said in last weeks’ blog update we had added a few things from Fantasy Flight Games as well as some other companies and their systems! For those who haven’t been to the store yet (shame on you!) here is a list of what got added last weekend:

The Blog
The keen eyed amongst you (which is most likely all of you warmongers!) will notice that the blog has not only changed in style but also in where it is located. We have indeed decided to trial run a full wordpress account instead of our usual integrated one we use for our site, this is because I have wanted to post videos to the blog and our older integrated one just won’t let us do it but this version does so we are putting this on trial for a bit to see how it goes, if people don’t like it then we shall go back to the good old favourite!
The Webstore
Emily has been super busy completely re-designing the structure and theme of the Putrid webstore over the last week or two and I have to say it’s looking great! We have had some brilliant feedback already and around 90% of the warmongers we asked about it said they really liked the new layout and style! Personal Updates
So myself and Emily are going to be buying into a new game system very soon and yes it’s one we sell but it is one we have liked the look of for a while now and decided with some money raised from some personal bits I’m selling, we are going to be getting…Deep Wars by Antimatter Games! This skirmish/rpg game is set completely underwater and not only do the models look outstanding but from what I’ve read so far the rules are exciting too! We will have more updates on this as we start collecting so keep and eye out for personal posts from myself and Emily in the future! Might even make a separate category for it here!

From Secret Weapon this week we have a Pigment fixer which acts as a bonding agent to keep your pigments firmly stuck to your models! Here’s what they have to say on their new product:
“This unique enamel fixative creates a permanent bond between your model and the pigments, without altering the texture or color of the pigments.

Power Armoured Metal
Matt of Power Armoured Metal is a friend I have known for well over a year now and I have watched him grow in leaps and bounds in his kitbashing, painting and overall blogging and I’m super happy that he is doing so well. In his latest blog he tells us about some changes that will be made to his regular blogs and also what he would like to achieve this year. Keep an eye on this guys because I can see big things from him in the future so be sure to follow his blog and social media pages which I will link at the end of this blog.
Roses and Boltshells are cosplayers like nothing I have ever seen, also the fantastic drawers of the Putrid Painting official logo these guys are among, if not THE best creators of cosplay costumes I have ever seen and I’m honestly surprised they haven’t been recruited to some costume making company of some sort. Latest updates include a professionaly photographed album of their latest costumes, if you like massive power armor and flames then I highly suggest you go take a look and leave a like if you loved it!
